Back in the Saddle Again.

Years ago, I was an almost daily blogger.  Then disaster struck, in the case of unemployment, and I let it go.  I was too depressed to write.  And being out of work for over 2 years didn't help matters along.  My days ran together, and I didn't feel like I had anything to talk about, let alone write about.  But this past year, I have seen a turn around.  A new job that I am settling into nicely and a stabilization of how I feel.  So, of course, I have been getting the itch to blog again.  Instead of jumping right into it, I decided to stick my toes in cautiously and check out existing bogs and what is going on. One of the first things I saw were the blog hops.

I have had a fantastic Christmas Season participating in blog hops and giveaways.  The shear number of blogs that were holding hops and giveaways during the months of November and December was astronomical.  It seemed that every day I was seeing yet another Blog Hop go up.  I did the first hop as kind of a trail run.  Would I enjoy getting back into the blogging world?  What are the new rules/customs/social niceties of this new blogging community? As it turns out, not much has changed.  Oh, they have fancier gadgets and gizmos for randomizing who wins, and some of the prizes are bigger, but over all, its the same basic principle.

I continued to be shocked by the shear number of blogs that are out there now.  And they cover everything from book reviews, to crafts, to recipes, to reviews, to giveaways, to blogs dedicated to hooking people up with giveaways.  Who knew?  It is truly an amazing time to be a blogger.  Apparently 2 years away can completely change the face of the game!

With my blog I am going to stick with what I know.  Books and Family.  Over the course of the last several weeks, I have gotten to take a good look around the blogger 'verse and I think I know what I want my blog to look like.  It just may take me some time to get it there.  So if anyone bothers to read this at, please be patient with me.
