To have and to howl…

Logan Black, former Marine and bodyguard for the Seattle Wolf Pack, hates weddings and has no plan to walk the path to matrimonial misery. But when he’s hired to protect a hot-to-trot wedding planner with a werewolf stalker, he’s forced to put his feelings aside. Not such an easy task when the damsel can turn him on with a single smoldering glance.

Wedding planner Veronica Vale knows werewolves exist, but hates them. One bit her sister, changing their lives forever. When a sexy Marine shows his gorgeous face at one of her wedding appointments, Veronica finds it hard to focus on the task at hand.

The chemistry drawing Logan and Veronica together seems fated, but with Logan’s playboy attitude, Veronica’s hatred for werewolves, and a stalker lurking in the shadows, these two need more than passion to keep them together.

Chapter One

“If I ever fall in love with a werewolf,” Veronica said, as she stared at a drunken wedding guest being escorted out of Seward Park, “shoot me.”

“Famous last words.”

Veronica Vale, wedding planner extraordinaire, folded her arms across her chest and gazed up at the cords of white lights streaming over the dance floor. “I don’t care how powerful they think they are, take them out of wolf form and they’re nothing but overgrown dogs in need of a muzzle.”

“Ouch.” Heather, her assistant wedding coordinator, eyed the bridal party as they waltzed to a beautiful rendition of “Are You Lonesome Tonight?” Huffing, Heather leaned over and bumped Veronica playfully in the shoulder. “Remind me not to get on your bad side.”

“I’m sorry, but there’s no excuse to get all worked up, especially at a wedding. Just goes to prove that they’re animals. Completely incapable of controlling their anger.” Veronica’s thoughts whirled around the incident that’d barely been avoided. Mr. Grady, the groom’s canine uncle, was offended that he’d been removed from the lineup of people to toast the bride and groom. The order came straight from the groom, but she was the one who had to relay the message and take the brunt of Mr. Grady’s anger. Veronica’s heart pounded in her chest as she strained to lower her voice. “If we hadn’t caught Mr. Grady when we did, seconds before he shifted, he would’ve burst through his tuxedo in front of everyone. Body hair suit?” She scoffed. “Not exactly wedding couture.”

Heather laughed. Veronica was grateful she had a friend to talk to about the werewolves in Seattle. If she had to bear the burden on her own, she didn’t know how she’d handle it. As it was, thinking about her older sister, Leah, being attacked last year and turning into a wolf made Veronica’s arm hair stand on end. It didn’t matter that Leah had accepted the hand she’d been dealt and fallen in love with a born werewolf from the Seattle Wolf Pack.

They were unnatural and had serious anger issues that turned them into beasts. If it weren’t for Leah getting info from her werewolf fiancĂ©, Jake, and tipping Veronica off as to which wedding guests could shift into the mangy things at the Grady wedding, Veronica wouldn’t have known to watch out for the groom’s uncle in the first place. There were a handful of other wolves attending the Grady wedding—from what her sister had said—and Veronica had assigned Heather to keep a close eye on all of them.

They couldn’t be trusted.

Interview:

Today, we welcome Kristin Miller to Musings and Ramblings. Let's all give her a big Geeky welcome!
Thanks so much for having me on your blog today. I’m happy to be here!
I have some questions for you that are writer specific as well as some fun stuff so that we can really get to know the real you. *grin* Plus we will finish things off with round of Think Fast. Ready to begin?
Heck yes! I’m ready. ☺
Writing Specific
1. Tell us something about yourself that's not in your bio.
I’m a chocoholic. I eat a handful of Hershey kisses…or M&M’s…or both…every day. (It’s a good thing I’m not opposed to working out!)
2. What do you like to do when you are not writing?
I enjoy going out with friends, whether it be to coffee, dinner or a movie. I love watching shameless reality television (Deadliest Catch and Judge Judy top my list), and running (though I haven’t laced up my shoes in about a month).
3. How did you choose the genres you write in?
I chose paranormal because that’s what I love to read. Simple as that.
4. Is there any particular author or book that has influenced you or your writing?
Honestly, I think every book you read influences your writing. There is something in each book I read that makes me pause and wonder “how did she do that?”
5. What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author?
I’ve been told certain books “fell flat” or “didn’t reach potential”. (Also interesting to note that the book that garnered such criticism has also been one of my better selling books. Just goes to show that one person’s opinion is just that.)
What has been the best compliment?
I was just told by a reader today that she bought my book while at work and intended to cue up her Kindle and read the first page…and she ended up reading the whole book. That means a lot. (I feel like I should apologize to her boss, but I’d be smiling the whole time.)
Fun Stuff
6. If you could have dinner with anyone, past or present, fictional or real, who would it be and why?
You said anyone, and not celebrity, so I’ll say my two deceased grandparents. I didn’t know my grandfather on that side so I’d love to finally meet him, and I miss my grandma terribly. She was one tough cookie.
7. You are going to be stranded on a deserted island and bring 3 luxury items. What would they be?

A knife, a pair of shoes, and Bear Grylls.
8. Pick two celebrities to be your parents. Who are they and why?
I wouldn’t mind having Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale as parents simply so they could teach me how to be really freaking cool. They’ve got enough cool mojo to go around, don’t you think?
9. What would we find in your refrigerator right now?
Way too many leftovers! I’ve been on a cooking binge lately. There’d be tri-tip, ravioli, homemade stew, coffee creamer, milk, corned beef and cabbage. There’s no way we could eat all this…I don’t know what I was thinking.
10. If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
Hell if I know. No really. That’s the title.
Think Fast
Summer or Winter? Winter! Bring on the rain!
Coffee or Tea? Coffee. I don’t drink tea unless I’m sick.
Cake or Pie? Cake. Always. Twice on Sunday.
Car or Truck? Both. Can never have too many cars.
Print or Electronic? Both.

Thanks for coming by and spending some time with us.

Thanks for having me! It was great!

Author Bio:

National bestselling author Kristin Miller has had a passion for language and literature her whole life. Born and raised in northern California, she often made up stories about faraway places and edge-of-your-seat adventures. After graduating from Humboldt State University, Kristin taught high school and middle school English, married her college sweetheart, and had two beautiful munchkins. In 2008, she took time off from teaching to raise her children, and started writing while they napped.

Her first novel was published in 2011, and since then she has had eight other novels published with Entangled Covet, Avon/HarperCollins and Harlequin Nocturne. She is the author of the Seattle Wolf Pack series (starting with the national bestselling book Gone with the Wolf), the dark and gritty Vampires of Crimson Bay series and the short-but-steamy Isle of Feralon novellas.
