5 Fun Facts about Musings & Ramblings
- What was the last movie/concert/show that you saw? - The last movie I saw was The Avengers, again. I am a HUGE action movie junkie. If there is a car chase or something blows up, I'm sure to enjoy it. (Bonus points if things blow up during a car chase!) Since Redbox, I can indulge in yelling at the screen and talking to the characters without public ridicule. Yes, I am one of those people who talk all through a movie. But since I talk all through a book too, I figure it's all good.
- You are going to be stranded on a deserted island and bring 3 luxury items. What would they be? - Solar powered generator, satellite hook up and my electronic devices. :) See if I have my electronic devices and satellite feed, I can google how to survive. Plus, you know, read and stuff. LOL.
- What is your bigges pet peeve? - People who don't know how to park their car correctly in a parking space. If you can't park, you have no business driving. *stepping quietly away from the soapbox*
- If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? Super Sonic Speed Reading. I swear, if I could read faster, I could get caught up on my back TBR pile and still keep up with all the great new books coming out.
- If you could have dinner with anyone, past or present, fictional or real, who would it be and why? Nathan Fillion. Because, hello, Nathan Fillion. Do I really need to say anything else?
I chose my answers from a list of 10 interview questions that I give to authors and ask them to chose 5. By letting them choose from the list, I think it allows them to really let their personality shine through. And isn't that why we read interviews, to make that connection that will help us to build a deeper relationship with an author? Here are the 5 I didn't choose:
- Tell us 2 positive and 2 negative character traits you possess.
- What was the name of the last book you read?
- Pick two celebrities to be your parents. Who are they and why?
- What would we find in your refrigerator right now?
- If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?

Bwahaha your island answer is perfect! Alright 2 good 2 bad qualities.
ReplyDeleteGood--1) I jump into things when they cross my mind. I love trying new things and seeing if I can handle them and don't let the unknown hold me back. and 2) I have a very open mind
Not so good--- 1) I jump into things when they cross my mind. lol It can get me a little overwhelmed now and again. And 2) I'm a total procrastinator though I'm working on that. Slowly. lol
I know all about Procrastination. He and I are old pals.
DeleteGreat Post and um yeah Nathan is a no brainer :)
ReplyDeleteI fell in love with him in Firefly and continue that adoration through Castle. He is such a lovable geeky goofball at times. It just makes him cuter. :)
DeleteI love action movies as well, I go to the movies few and far in between but it is always for action, my first action hero love was Jean-Claude Van Damme I remember being little and watching movies I was not supposed to watch.
ReplyDelete2. Reality Bites, Gail Koger finished it last night!
5. If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
In Progress the thirties
I think mine was Steven Segal. He seemed so tough with that soft spoken voice.
DeleteI love your deserted island answer, perfect. :D
ReplyDeleteMy refrigerator currently has iced tea, eggs, cheese, pickles, butter, and cucumbers. I need to go shopping. :D
Sounds like you have priorities covered with the iced tea. :)
DeleteOh, thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteHm, let's see . . . the last book I read was Play by Kylie Scott, I listened on audio while walking the dogs. Great book, I love her Stage Dive Series!
And I suppose I'll do a random question, too. In my fridge, you'll find a big bottle of Caramel Machiotto creamer. I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but when I do drink a cup in the morning, it has to have my creamer, some vanilla sugar, and milk in it. :)
Enjoy!
TBQ
Oh, nice an audio title! I am constantly on the look out for new audio reads.
DeleteThe only thing I know my refrigerator ALWAYS has in the summer is pitcher full of iced mocha coffee and another of lemonade. The rest is a mystery :)
ReplyDeleteLove the questions :)
Nice meeting you through the hop...
Yellow or Pink? I will drink regular lemonade, but I admit a preference for pink lemonade.
DeleteNice to meet'cha :) Thanks for such a fun post!!!
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you too!
DeleteOh You and I should definitely hit the movies, lols. And I'm so with you on the parking thing...that drives me bananas.
ReplyDeleteIf somone wrote a book about me...the title would definitely be "She Who Drinks too Much Wine" lmbo!
Recently I observed across a grass meridian, a minivan pull into a horizontal space at an angle, taking up 1/3 of a second spot. The next car pulls in and has to pull way over to get into the spot. The second car had to pulled in so close to the car on the other side of him (parked correctedly by the way), that the third driver would not be able to even open the door on the driver's side. I was horrified, and very nearly got out of my car to go give both men drivers a piece of my mind. I do remember hitting my head on the steering wheel and sighing deeply. I swear, some day I am going to get some business cards made up with Your an Idiot Driver on them and start handing them out.
DeleteI would love hitting the movies with you! Do you yell at them too? My sisters won't go with me anymore. Something about not shutting up and embarrassing them. Pfft.
The last book I read was won from a giveaway! It is called Shotgun Lovestories! It was a great read, and I am so glad I did read it, I might not have done so if it weren't for the giveaway. The reviews out there on it are incredible, and it was very heartfelt, a trait a lot of books nowadays have no idea how to convey.
ReplyDeleteShotgun Lovestories? By who? Was it an anthology? I love anthologies. I think of them as little reading bites of yum.
DeleteNice questions! So what would we find in your refrigerator right now? Lets see: OJ, 2% Milk, Beer, Ice Tea, Diet Coke, Dr. Pep., Sierra Mist, Bread, Cheese, Salsa, Ketchup, Mustered, Spaghetti sauce, Pork Chops, Strawberries, Raspberries, Grapes, Blueberries, Salad, Lim, Salad Dressing, Applause, Eggs... well that's what we would find. It's on the scares side right now! LOL
ReplyDeleteAngela @ Angel's Guilty Pleasures
Applause? I just have to ask, if you don't actually remove anything is it louder. Like "Yeah, you refrained! Keep to that diet!" Or is more like anything you take out is "Excellent choice madam!" (and I do hear that with a British accent.)
Delete[I am sure you got auto-corrected for applesauce, but I just couldn't resist. *grin*]
The last book I read was Unbreakable by Kami Garcia.
ReplyDeleteTwo positive traits, I'm loyal and inquisitive. Two negative traits, I'm impatient and often a bit pessimistic.
Was the book any good? Don't just drop that title in like that. Spill, share, expound!
DeleteI love the Avengers! I could watch that movie and all the other movies like crazy. I love Loki! =)
ReplyDeleteThe last book I read was Witch Hunter by T.A. Kunz
If someone wrote a book about me, the title would be…"The crazy life of a mom with two girls"
I have always been a huge fan of comics brought to the big screen. I loved Wesley Snipes, Stallone and Sandra Bullock in Demolition Man. There are so many great lines from that movie. Though I do still want to know how the 3 sea shells worked...
DeleteIf I was stranded on a desert island and could bring three luxury items with me I would bring toilet paper, rice and a lounge chair. Nice to meet you I like your blog.
ReplyDeleteToilet paper is a good call. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteIt is summer time and in my refrigerator right now are cherries - lots and lots of cherries, fresh grapes, watermelon, and the leftovers from last night's #6 dinner from China Hut. Of course there are also the boring condiments and staples - but listed above is the really fun stuff. Thank you for the fun sharing and giggles :)
ReplyDeleteIf I ask very nicely, will you make me a cherry pie? Mmmm. Doesn't that sound good?
DeleteI was going to answer the question about what I've just read, but *sigh* I cant remember the title, even though I loved it. I don't feel like going into the other room to get the book (I better get my review written), so I'll answer the refrigerator question. I currently have milk, eggs, butter, and salad stuff. Thank you for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteHey Michelle. I have done that too, completely forgotten the name of a book. My sister and I used to play this game called, what was it about? Because I would say something like, did you read that book? She would respond Which one? And of course, I could never remember the title or author, so we would start talking about different plot points until she knew which one. Personally, I call it Half-Timers, since I only remember stuff about half the time.
DeleteI'll answer the easy one. The last book I read was Kerrelyn Sparks' How to Seduce a Vampire (Without Really Trying).
ReplyDeleteDidja like it? My sister started that series and was really into it for awhile. I think I might have read book 2 or 3, maybe, but never got any further into it. I was big into Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake series about the time she was reading them and it just didn't click with me. I am very much a mood reader. If I ain't in the mood, I can't get into it.
DeleteBeautiful Oblivion by Jamie McGuire
ReplyDeleteWas it any good? I love hearing about new to me books.
DeleteMy refrigerator has brewed espresso in a jar, milk, cream, orange juice, a ton of Brussels sprouts and spinach someone gave us, some leftover stuffed eggplant, and a quart of half-used buttermilk that should be thrown away (but I can't bring myself to sniff it)...
ReplyDeleteTrix, vitajex(at)Aol(Dot)com
LOL, I know exactly what you are talking about with the buttermilk.
DeleteI LOVE your Nathan Fillion banner!!! <3 I've been a fan of his since he was on One Life to Live! =) And my favorite show right now is Castle!!!! And random fact, I was like 5ft from Nathan TWICE, but didnt have the chance to say hi because he was busy & I didnt want to bother him. Maybe 3rd time will be the charm if I ever get another chance lol.
ReplyDeleteNow to answer 1 of your questions,.... If you could have dinner with anyone, past or present, fictional or real, who would it be and why? It would either be Sandra Bullock, or Stana Katic because I think they are both interestingly awesome!! I love them both! =)
Take care, & I hope you have a great day! <3

When I went looking for a pic of him, I was thrilled to find something that showcased his many sides. I am a fan of Sandra Bullock myself. I love the fact that she has played roles that let her be a bit goofy and laugh at herself. Few actresses seem to want to take that risk. On a geek note: Sandra and Stana have a 4 degrees of separation: Sandra Bullock was in Speed, which had major dialogue rewrites by Joss Whedon, who has cast Nathan Fillian in several productions, who now works with Stana Katic. (Yes, yes, you got a peek at the geek that lives in my head.)
DeleteVery nice sharing, thx for that….made me chuckle a few times. If someone wrote a book about me the title would be "The Hard Boiled Blond, a Memoir, from LA Rock Goddess to Country Chicken Diva" Nice meeting you, June
ReplyDeleteI am digging that title! And thanks for saying I made you chuckle. ;)
DeleteI talk while reading books too :) What's in my refrigerator ? A very delicious chocolate cream that I made yesterday (it's even better tasting the next day) and now that I'm thinking of it, maybe I'm going to finish it :) Thanks for sharing !
ReplyDeleteOh sure, tease me with a chocolate cream and run of to enjoy it without sharing! *mutters* Now I have chocolate on the brain and must find my own.
DeleteWhat would we find in your refrigerator right now? Oh god, bad things. Cheese curds, beef jerky, strawberry milk, and leftover Chalupas from Taco Bell lol
ReplyDeleteThose don't sound like bad things... okay maybe not very healthy.. yes, yes fine, bad for you, but has anyone else noticed that all the yummy things usually are?
DeleteMy celebrity parents would be Robert Redford, he is down to earth and cares for the environment like it do, and Diane Keaton because she is very independent and would encourage me to do anything I want to do.
ReplyDeleteOh, nice choices. I wouldn't have thought of that pairing, but you are oh so right. Plus, can you just imagine a combo of those eyes and that comedic timing?
DeleteHi there
ReplyDeleteMy refrederator has lots of cherrys because i so love cherry's lots of water, i work out alot need cold water, other veggies, and that's it.
last books I read well i just re read the black dagger brother hood series by j.r ward and getting ready to start Cinder.
My worst character is I talk to much.
see i am still talking lol
thanks for the giveaway
Good for you drinking lots of water. I know that I don't drink enough. It has been awhile since I reread the BDB, even just to skip my favorite scenes from the different books. I have Cinder on audio, but since I am not a big fan of YA, I keep shoving it to the back.
DeleteI just finished reading Bone Seeker by Brynn Chapman. I really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteOkay, that is a tempting sounding book. The daughter of Sherlock and the son of Watson, set in the 1900. If she has a job, it doesn't sound so much like YA as NA. Add in the mysterious bones and possible angelic angle, and now we have a paranormal angle. This has the makings for something very interesting. I will keep it in consideration. Thanks for the tip!
DeleteThe last concert I saw was just this past Sunday - JayZ & Beyonce's On the Run tour. OMG epic!!
ReplyDeleteBut I so loved your answer for the 3 luxury items on a deserted island. If I ever get stuck, I'm totally copying that. And I will join your soapbox about people who can't park. Same with the ones who can't use turn signals. *shakes head in frustration*
I am glad you enjoyed my 3 luxury items and I will totally make room for you up here on my soapbox. :) I know exactly what you mean about turn signals. I once was sitting at an intersection waiting to turn on to the road and got flipped off and honked at by a guy who had his turn signal on and slowing down, so I pulled into traffic thinking he would be turning. Nope, instead he ran up on my bumper, honking, flipping me off and yelling curse words out the window instead. I turned to my passenger and was like "didn't you think he was turning too?" That guy followed me for over 5 miles down the road with his turn signal on before he finally made his turn. *shaking head* I hate to say it, but I think that retakes for a driver's license should be mandatory every 10 years.
DeleteThe last book I finished was Kristan Higgins My One and Only. I'm a big fan of Kristan's books :)
ReplyDeleteI am sad to admit that I haven't read anything my Ms. Higgins before. I keep meaning to, but I just haven't seen anything that grabbed me by the imagination and kept it in the front of my brain.
Deletethe name of the last book i read was Vexing Voss by Gail Koger. it is part of her Coletti Warlords series , i am now reading the next book in the series, Reality Bites. :)
ReplyDeleteit was nice getting to know a bit about you. thank you for the chance at such a great contest.

I am not familiar with the series, but it does look interesting. Books that combine big action and great dialogue are sure to make me smile. Thanks for the heads up!
