One dream fails, a passion burnt out...

With no set plan and a desire to find a passion, Blaine Grant hightailed it out of Harmony's Echo a year out of high school to find herself. Finding a passion didn't come as easily to her as it did for others she knew. Now, Blaine has come home for good with mistakes she'd like to forget, but the past doesn't want to forget her. Everyone thought she'd been selfish to not come back when she was needed the most, but Blaine never let anyone know the emotional hell she went through.

Another dream is just beginning to see the light...

Randy Hughes has always been the shy guy until he discovered his love of music. It wasn't until joining the band that he grew out of his shyness. The oldest sibling and the only boy, he's pressured by family expectations to set a good example. He's the one who takes everyone in when they need it, and he's the one whose own dreams are ignored. Now that big things are happening for the Baby Stetson band, Randy has to decide how to handle his family when his dreams are on the line...

A friendship is changing.

One spur of the moment, impulsive move leads Randy and Blaine into a dire situation that may bring them together, or pull them apart, just when he's finally able to gather the courage to tell Blaine how he's felt about her all these years...

Revisit the characters you've come to know in small town Harmony's Echo, as more changes settle upon them.
Excerpt:
To shut her up, Randy gave her another spoonful. "What I think is you lived through hell. You made a mistake. Sometimes, it happens. I think you're an amazing woman." He leaned forward and kissed her cold, slightly sticky lips. "Hmm. I also think you taste good."

She giggled. "The only way you get to taste more of that sundae is by kissing me. I'd better get every last drop in that container. Don't you short me."

"Would I do a thing like that?"

"Yes!" Her laughter continued.

Randy scooped another spoonful out. "Mmm. This is soooooo goooooood." He drew out the words.

Blaine gasped and reached forward, trying to find the spoon.

"You're going to make a mess!" Randy held the spoon over her head. Blaine grabbed his shirt and pulled him closer, still keeping her eyes closed. He looked up as the chocolate dripped off the spoon and a few drops landed on her cheek. "Just like that."

"It's your fault!" she protested.

Before Blaine could clean it up, Randy leaned over and licked the chocolate off. He made sure to lick slowly, attempting to tease her a little. It worked. When he cleaned up every last drop, he smacked his lips together. "Yum! By the way, you lied."

"How did I lie?"

He laughed. "You said the only way I was going to get to taste more of your sundae was by kissing you. I didn't kiss you, and I still got some."

Her eyelids fluttered open as she narrowed her eyes. "That's. Not. Fair," she grumbled.

"You're just saying that because I was right." He kissed her. "And you were wrong." Picking up the container, he handed it over. "Take the rest. I have my own. I just wanted to surprise you."
Guest Post:

Hello, and thanks for having me on your blog today!

So yes, I know this is a music series and some authors have specific playlists for when they write. Not quite me. I DO have music on while I write, as music is part of my soul and it helps fuel the muse, but really for me, I just run Pandora on random and let the tunes play.

However, there are specific tunes that remind me of characters and some of their situations. Most of my couples have a song, and there were a few tunes that inspired parts scenes in The Key To My Heart. So this is a different type of playlist I'm sharing with you :)

The song that reminds me the most of Blaine and Randy and that I see really fits them is Blake Shelton's "Over" It says a lot about them. Randy would do everything he can for Blaine and all he's ever wanted was to win her over. Now he gets his chance.

There's also Leah Turner's "Pull Me Back." The song seems to fit because Blaine is always pushing away.

Now, there are two songs that kind of combined for a scene in the book. The scene didn't go quite the way I planned, but it was definitely a big one!

The songs?

"Cop Car" By Keith Urban and "Skinny Dippin'" by Whitney Duncan.

There's also songs that remind me of other Love and Music in Texas couples, and they definitely make appearances in this book.

For instance. I always thought Lee Bryce's "Hard to Love" reminded me of Lucas and Avery.

And now that Lucas is settling down, Lee Bryce's "I Don't Dance" comes to mind (LOVE that these songs come from the same guy for my same hero LOL)

For Jameson and Melody, the song that reminds me the most of them is Thomas Rhett's "It Goes Like This"

So there's a handful of songs that while aren't a play list, they do come to mind a lot in the making of the Love and Music in Texas cast and characters :)

Author Bio:

I'm an avid lover of books. I've been writing as far back as I can remember, completing my first "book" by fifth grade in one of those one subject spiral notebooks. I have a passion for music, photography, jewelry and all things creative. I live in Arizona with my husband and son, but dream of being somewhere much colder and stormier. For now, I'll have to live that life through my characters and stick it out with the summer heat.
