She’s getting out of the city and into his heart…Guest Post:
Reese Hudson meant to destroy mementos from her last failed relationship, not burn down an outhouse and incur the wrath of a sexy park ranger. When the judge rejects her offer to pay for the structure and sentences her to rebuild it—with the hot ranger supervising—she embraces the challenge to take control of her life.
Park ranger Wade Baker wants nothing to do with the rich city girl, no matter how tempting he finds her lush curves. She’s too much like his ex-fiancĂ©e, and if he’s learned anything, it’s that women like Reese don’t fit into his world. And he sure as hell wants no part of her big city life.
Reese may not know a hammer from a screwdriver, but she’s working hard to prove she’s not just some pampered princess to be toyed with. And damn it if Wade doesn’t admire her tenacious spirit. If only they got along half as well outside the bedroom as they do in it, there might be a chance for them after all…
Thanks so much for helping me to celebrate the release of Romancing the Ranger- my newest book in Entangled Publishing’s Lovestruck line. It’s a romantic comedy about Reese Hudson, a city girl, who meets a hunky park ranger when she accidentally burns down a structure in his state park and is required to rebuild it under the ranger’s supervision. Reese is fresh out of a relationship with a controlling boyfriend and determined to take control of her own life.
I love casting characters for my books and imagining what actors and actresses would play the characters in my books if they were made into movies. And I love creating Pinterest boards for each one of my books.
There’s actually a funny story behind the cast and the names of my new release, Romancing the Ranger. The submission guidelines for the Lovestruck line at Entangled Publishing described the heroines that they were looking to be a cross between Reese Witherspoon and Kate Hudson- so I created a heroine named Reese Hudson and imagine her as a cross of those two women.
Ranger Wade Baker is completely inspired by one of my favorite television heroes- Wade Kinsella from Hart of Dixie. Okay, I might actually have a huge crush on him and there could possibly be a board on my Pinterest page solely featuring Team Wade and a picture or two—or fifty—of Wade Kinsella.
I would have to say that Miss Abigail, Wade’s grandmother, would be played by a character similar to Betty White—a woman who looks like a sweet old lady but is really full of spit and vinegar with a sharp wit, a sassy personality and a dirty mind. And of course there’s Bagel, the chubby pug.
I have several other pictures of what inspired me for this new first book in the Cotton Creek Romance series on my Romancing the Ranger Pinterest board. Check it out at: https://www.pinterest.com/tjmarts/romancing-the-ranger/
I would love to know what your thoughts on about the cast of the book. And if you’ve already read it, how do you think I did?
