Interview: 
What are your writing goals for the next year?
I’d just like to make my deadlines despite some physical issues, which have me writing on my back, dictating into a microphone, and viewing what I’ve written projected onto the ceiling. It’s not ideal, but I can do it. 

Which three writers have inspired you the most and why/how?
1) Mary Janice Davidson was the first paranormal chic-lit I ever read. A half-price bookseller put Dead and Unwed in my hands, and I was hooked! MJ invented the genre, so it was probably the best author to read for that kind of off-the-wall snarky humor I wanted to write.
2) Annette Blair. She wrote the Kitchen Witch, which was another early paranormal of the light variety. We got to know each other because we both live in New England and ran into each other at RWA meetings. She became my unofficial mentor. She even read and gave me a quote for my first funny erotic paranormal titled Vampire Vintage. What she said to me (not for the quote) was priceless. “I can’t believe you made me fall in love with a vampire!” LOL
3) Mia Marlowe aka Lexie Eddings. She’s been my critique partner for many years. She has the same sense of humor and laughs at my jokes. That’s priceless when you haven’t received any feedback yet and you’re an insecure writer…as 99% of us probably are. I read Distracting the Duchess and laughed out loud. I wrote her a fan letter and learned she lived right across the street from my husband’s office in Boston! Even though we wrote different genres our partnership worked. She offers fabulous romance writing advice no matter what subgenre you’re talking about!

What quote inspires you/sums up your life?

Describe (in words or photos) your favorite reading space.
I have a photo of my fireplace…  I read and brainstorm there. So, that’s why there’s a tray full of papers and reference books there!

Review: 

Ashlyn Chase has been on my reading radar for awhile. I tricked, um, I mean talked, my sister in to reading the Strange Neighbors series quite a while ago to see if I might like them, and she adored them. Of course, then she never gave me my books back, the sneak. When I saw the first book in the Flirting with Fangs trilogy, I admired the cover, but never got a chance to get the book, so I didn't follow up on the others in the series. All this is to say that when I saw the beginning of another new series, this one about DRAGONS, I decided I absolutely HAD to read it.

And, now I know exactly why my sister stole, um co-opted my books. I had a fantastic time with this book and the world the author created. Plus, I found out that all three series are set in the same universe and we actually get updates on where former characters are, as they interact with this book. I am delighted when I get a chance to check back in with old characters in new books. Futhermore, I think I could still go back and read those other series without too many spoilers ruining the books. Kudos for that.

This was a light hearted, fun and fanciful read. The main characters are dragons, but we also get the full variety pack from the paranormal genre. This story isn't full of dark and brooding creatures and doesn't try to take itself too seriously. If you are looking for something amusing and offbeat, this would be a great read for you. I had a superb time with this read and gave it 4 stars.
